Dr Kate Haworth is Director of the Centre for Research on Spoken Interaction in Legal Contexts at Aston University. In this talk she will cover some of the key aspects of language and communication in the police investigative interview from a linguistic perspective, focusing in particular on how the interaction is designed towards the subsequent function of the interview as a piece of criminal evidence.
