In legal proceedings accurate interpreting is crucial, and it is our policy that all interpreters working within the Criminal Justice System should be qualified, experienced, registered and vetted, and governed by a nationally recognised code of professional conduct.

APCI members are used to working with people from varied educational and cultural backgrounds. They are familiar with specialised legal terminology. They have extensive experience of legal proceedings, including PACE interviews, charging, remand and trial. They are also registered on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI), which means that they have been assessed as competent to work in the public sector.

Our call centre, APCI Response, enables you to book a registered interpreter with a single telephone call. The service is free to use and does not involve you in expensive contractual obligations.

Our trained operators will ask you for the language required and the postcode of the location. They will then locate the nearest interpreter to you who is free on the day, thereby saving travelling time and costs. The interpreter will then call you back to confirm the cost and make arrangements for the assignment. Expect to work with a professional who will be appropriately dressed for the assignment and meet the standards expected by you.
