14 June 2021, 17:00

Online event

Rowena Chopping, NCA Investigator, Specialist Witness Interviewer and Witness Care Officer has been involved with investigating Serious & Organised Crime for 21 years starting her career at HM Customs and Excise, SOCA, and then the NCA. These investigations have predominately involved drug trafficking, firearms and money laundering.

In 2016 she trained as a specialist witness interviewer/witness care officer which she now does alongside her role as an investigator.  As a specialist witness interviewer, she interviews victims of crime classified as vulnerable and/or intimidated.

The presentation is based on a case study on a recent investigation into Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking and the use of interpreters during all aspects of victim engagement.
